Details: Transitioning service members as well as veterans who separated from service years ago are often well served by enrolling in programs of post-secondary education or job training to increase their earning potential and employment options. This training will cover the types of training and education opportunities in our region, tuition support and funding options available, and the student veteran success initiatives that increase retention and completion of programs. Vocational trainers, education administrators, and social service providers will increase their understanding of the veteran services community in order to reach veterans who may benefit from training and education and how to support student veterans from enrollment to completion.
Objectives: 1. Describe the network of agencies where potential student veterans are accessing services 2. Discuss the types of training and education options that may appeal to veterans across a continuum of transition 3. Identify social service and behavioral health resources for referral of student veterans 4. Recall tuition support and funding resources available to student veterans and their families
