Details: Acceptance and Commitment Therapy is an Evidence Based Psychotherapy shown to be effective in treating a number of conditions including depression, chronic pain, and OCD. It can be delivered in individual and group formats and can be adapted to time-limited treatment or expanded to fit the needs of more complex client presentations. This three day workshop is designed to provide a strong foundational understanding of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and its theoretical underpinnings (Relational Frame Theory, Functional Contextualism) while moving clinicians from theory into application through experiential exercises, role plays, and video demonstrations. A particular emphasis will be placed on developing strong case conceptualization skills that will allow clinicians to tailor and adapt treatment to the needs of a broad range of presenting problems and populations. Specific adaptations for Veterans will be highlighted.

Objectives: As a result of this workshop, participants will be able to:

  • Articulate the theoretical underpinnings of ACT.
  • Identify ACT core processes.
  • Select and apply experiential exercises and metaphors targeting each core process.
  • Utilize a case conceptualization approach to apply ACT core processes to the treatment of different presenting problems and patient populations.

Course Fee:

  • $209.00
  • $250 for day of registration

Cost: 209.00
