Details: The Joint Service Transcript (JST) is the Department of Defese record of a service member's training and experience. It is a powerful tool that a veteran can leverage to earn prior learning credit from education and training providers as well as employers who know how to read it. This workshop will introduce educators, hiring managers, and social service providers to the JST and provide the opportunity to translate the JST into civilian terms. Additionally, this workshop will cover the process of conducting a MOS crosswalk from a military occupation to a comparable civilian job or sector.

Objectives:

  1. Understand how to access a veteran’s Joint Service Transcript (JST)
  2. Increase knowledge about the JST and how to read it
  3. Increase knowledge about how to use the JST to maximize credit for prior learning through the use of various agencies such as the American Council on Education (ACE)
  • Increase knowledge of conducting a MOS crosswalk to translate military experience into civilian job tasks and abilities
  • Cost: Free!
