Research indicates that Veterans who participate in art therapy practices find ongoing mutual support, learn to understand and cope with symptoms, enhance their strengths and abilities to reenter their communities, and improve their outlook on life. Veterans have reported emotional relief by expressing feelings through creating artwork in a therapeutic relationship. Participation in art practices has been found to help Veterans capitalize on their strengths of courage and pride.
